Blue Takes A 4-1 Win On Wednesday

Chapel Hill, NC --Â Â The Blue squad rode a three-run sixth inning on its way to a 4-1 win over Navy in a 7 1/2 inning scrimmage on another cool, blustery afternoon on Wednesday at Boshamer Stadium.
Blue scored its first run in the fifth inning as Jake Holtzapple stroked an RBI single to left. Blue then picked up three more runs in the sixth. Mac Horvath blasted a home run to left before Tomas Frick drilled a two-run double. Navy scored its lone run in the eighth as a run scored on a fielder's choice on a nifty 6-4-3 double play.
Angel Zarate, Tomas Frick and Joey Lancellotti were the only players with multiple base hits. Zarate was 2-4, Frick was 2-3 with two RBI and Lancellotti was 2-3 at the plate. Extra base hits were Horvath's home run and doubles by Angel Zarate, Frick, Jack Reidel, Will Stewart and Joey Lancellotti.
Josh Dotson and Chris Joyner got the starts. Will Sandy, Joseph Charles, Gage Gillian, Nick James, Cannon Pickell and Caden O'Brien threw in relief. Dotson gave up no runs in 4.1 innings with Will Sandy following him with 3.0 scoreless innings. Chris Joyner gave up one run in 4.1 innings while Nick James added 2.0 scoreless innings.
The Tar Heels will hold their next scrimmage on Thursday.
