Carolina Adds DB Dontae Balfour On Second National Signing Day

CHAPEL HILL – Defensive back Dontae Balfour became the final member of Carolina's 2021 recruiting class when he signed with the Tar Heels on Wednesday. Balfour is the 19th signee in this year's class that currently ranks No. 14 nationally in the 247Sports Composite team rankings. The Heels' per player rating of 90.87 ranks 10th nationally.

A four-star prospect from Starke, Fla., Balfour is ranked as the nation's 233rd-best player and the 17th-ranked cornerback by 247Sports. The 6-2, 170-pounder had a strong prep career, recording 201 tackles, 14 INTs and 12 PBU over three seasons at Bradford High School. Balfour earned All-First Coast honors as a senior and was an all-area selection as a junior.
