Carolina Notes
• The 42-point margin of victory was Carolina's largest in an ACC Tournament game (previous 37 in an 87-50 win over NC State in the 1968 finals). It was one point shy of the ACC Tourney record (43 by Virginia over Duke in 1983).
• UNC's largest win ever in ACC Tournament history came one game after its largest-ever loss in the tournament (28 to Syracuse on 3/11/20).
• The 101 points are a season high and most by UNC in the ACC Tourney since scoring 102 vs. Maryland in 1993.
• UNC is 64-2 under Roy Williams when it scores 100 points.
• The win was Williams' 902nd, which ties Bob Knight for third all-time by a Division I coach. Williams is 902-262 in 33 seasons.
• UNC grabbed 25 offensive rebounds, most by UNC in an ACC Tourney game and tied the fourth most by any school in ACC Tourney history.
• UNC had tied its previous record for offensive rebounds in an ACC Tournament game by the first TV timeout of the second half (previous was 22 vs. Duke in 2017 semifinal).
• This was the fifth time UNC players had three double-doubles in an ACC Tournament game (first time since 1963 quarterfinal vs. South Carolina).
• The last time UNC even had two double-doubles in an ACC Tournament game was the 2003 quarterfinal vs. Maryland (Raymond Felton and Rashad McCants).
• UNC had a season-high 12 blocks (11 vs. Duke in the previous high). Only the fifth time in UNC history the Tar Heels had double-figure blocks in consecutive games. First time since 2014.
• UNC shot 50.6 percent from the floor (6-0 this year and 220-9 under Roy Williams when shooting 50 percent).
• Five Tar Heels scored in double figures (Armando Bacot 20, Walker Kessler 16, Caleb Love 15, Day'Ron Sharpe 14, RJ Davis 14).
• Carolina's freshmen scored 70 points. The previous high by UNC freshmen in an ACC Tourney game was 49 in the 2007 finals vs. NC State (Wayne Ellington 16, Brandan Wright 16, Ty Lawson 13, Deon Thompson 4).
• This was only the second time in 132 games Brooks missed a game in his UNC career. Last season, he did not play at Louisville on 2/22/20 due to illness.
• Carolina had started the same five players, including senior Garrison Brooks, in every game (except Senior Night) since January 12.
• Sharpe started in place of Brooks. This was his fourth start. He started against Georgia Tech (12/30), Notre Dame (1/2) and Miami (1/5).
• UNC scored 50 and 51 points by half. It was the third and fourth 50-point halves this season (50 in second at Duke, 51 in second vs. Louisville).
• This was the sixth time this season five Tar Heels scored in double figures. UNC is 5-1 in those games.
• Carolina made nine threes, most since it made 10 at Duke on 2/6.
• Carolina had 19 assists and 11 turnovers. It was the first time in five games UNC had more assists than turnovers.
• UNC is 126-38 all-time in Greensboro.
