Top-Ranked Tar Heels Host Air Force Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Nine days after picking up its first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the season, the UNC men's lacrosse team returns to the field Saturday for its final non-conference game of the spring. The top-ranked Tar Heels (7-0, 1-0 ACC) host Air Force (1-4) Saturday at noon at Kenan Stadium.

UNC has opened 7-0 for the second year in a row. The last time the Tar Heels won more than seven at the start of a season was in 2015, when they won their first nine and finished 13-4. (Last season Carolina was 7-0 when the season was halted.)
• The Falcons are the Tar Heels' sixth Southern Conference opponent of 2021.
• UNC leads the nation in scoring (18.86 goals per game) and ranks fifth in assists (10.29 apg).
• Tar Heel freshman goalkeeper Collin Krieg was named the US Lacrosse DI Men's Player of the Week and the ACC Defensive Player of the Week following his 20-save performance at Virginia on March 11 in UNC's most recent game.
• The Tar Heels moved up to No. 1 in the IL Media poll this week but fell to No. 2 in the USILA poll, in which they'd spent the past three weeks in the top spot.
