Carolina Faces No. 13 Louisville, Miami in Sunshine State

CHAPEL HILL – Wrapping up the 2020-21 season, North Carolina takes on No. 13 Louisville and Miami Friday and Saturday in Coral Gables, Fla.

Carolina (10-6, 9-5 ACC) opens the weekend against No. 13 Louisville (12-2, 10-2 ACC) on Friday at 2 p.m. in Coral Gables, Fla. The Tar Heels wrap up the weekend against host Miami (10-6, 8-6 ACC) Saturday at 1 p.m. Fans can watch both matches on ACCNX and follow live stats at unclivestats.com

Recently for the Tar Heels
Despite a season-best 12 aces, North Carolina fell to No. 25 Florida State in a five-set heartbreaker on Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House. The Tar Heels jumped to early leads to earn wins both the first and fourth sets while Florida State did the same in sets two and three to force a decisive fifth set. The final set featured five tie scores and three lead changes before the Seminoles clinched the 15-9 win .

Carolina was unable to bounce back on Sunday against No. 19 Pittsburgh as the Tar Heels dropped a three-set match in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Kaya Merkler led UNC's offense throughout the weekend with 19 kills while Skyy Howard tallied 14 with seven blocks. Aristea Tontai totaled four of UNC's 12 aces vs. Florida State on Saturday.
