May 6, 2021 | Softball
CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina Softball closes out the regular season with a four-game home stand versus the Louisville Cardinals this weekend at Anderson Stadium.
The series begins on Friday night with a 5:30 p.m. first pitch back in Chapel Hill, the first game at home in almost three weeks, and will begin a celebration for the class of 2020 who were not able to host a senior night last year.
Saturday afternoon will be host to senior night for the class of 2021, with first pitch also at 5:30 p.m. at Anderson Stadium. The home stand will wrap up on Sunday, with a doubleheader against the Cardinals beginning at 10 a.m., with the second game beginning roughly 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
All four games will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
The Tar Heels return home after a week off in the schedule with a 12-23 record, 8-17 in conference play while Louisville heads into Chapel Hill with a 19-25-1 record, 13-19-1 in the league.

Two weeks ago, the Tar Heels played rival Duke at Duke Softball stadium in Durham, dropping all four to the No. 22 ranked Blue Devils. In the finale, the Tar Heels held the lead up until the seventh inning, with Duke rallying for a walk-off victory in the last inning.
"I'm really proud of this team and really proud of the fight they put up at Duke," said head coach Donna J. Papa. "We were two outs away from a win, and two walk-off wins versus a ranked Duke really shows how much talent and fight we have in this team."
The Tar Heels will honor two senior classes this weekend at Anderson Stadium, three graduates from the class of 2020 return to celebrate on Friday, while the program will honor seniors Katie Grace Olinger, Brittany Pickett, Kristina Burkhardt, Campbell Hutcherson and Zoë Goodman from the class of 2021 on Saturday.
