Volleyball Hosts Elon for Tuesday Matchup

CHAPEL HILL – Coming off a 2-0 weekend in Michigan, the 8-0 Carolina volleyball team returns to Carmichael Arena with a 6 p.m. matchup against Elon on Tuesday night. The match will be streamed on ACCNX.
The Heels, who received votes in this week's AVCA Women's Division I Coaches Top-25 Poll, lead the all-time series 8-5 over the Phoenix, but Elon is 3-2 against the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. The two teams last met Sep. 18, 2018, at Elon. UNC swept the match 3-0. The only current Tar Heel to have played against Elon at Carolina is senior captain Annabelle Archer.
Elon enters the matchup with a 5-4 record, coming off a straight set victory over Mercer on Saturday. The only common opponent the two teams has faced this season is Duke. Carolina swept Duke on Sep. 10, while Elon fell to the Blue Devils 0-3 on Aug. 31 in Durham.
Tuesday night's match will also be a family reunion for two athletes on either bench. Parker Austin's younger sister, Presly, is a freshman setter for the Phoenix.
