What's New At Kenan Stadium In 2021

The Tar Heel Football home opener is right around the corner, and Carolina Athletics wants to make sure fans are prepared for their long-awaited return to Kenan Stadium. Check out the list below for updated game day experiences and procedures. More details and updates will be posted throughout the season on GoHeels.com and CarolinaGameday.com.

Gates To Open Two Hours Before Kickoff
For at least the first two games, fans will be allowed to enter the gates to Kenan Stadium two hours prior to kick off. This decision is in conjunction with the increased excitement around this year's team, and an effort to allow more time for fans to familiarize themselves with the digital ticketing process.

Pregame Activities
For at least the first two games of the 2021 home football season, the Bell Tower Walk will not take place. However, Tar Heel Town will be returning to Polk Place, where fans can enjoy music, interactive games, inflatables, food trucks, and more! Tar Heel Town officially opens three hours prior to kickoff and concludes with a Marching Tar Heels performance about one hour prior to the game.

Cashless transactions
As instituted last season, food and merchandise transactions will continue to be cashless.  This limits the contact between guests and employees, and improves the flow and speed of transactions to help reduce wait times.  Accepted payment options include, but are not limited to, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Apple Pay.

Mobile concessions ordering
Carolina Athletics has partnered with VenueNext to provide fans in Kenan Stadium with a convenient and contactless way to skip the lines by ordering food & beverage to be picked up at concessions stands in sections: 101, 112, 118, and 130.

Alcohol Sales
Alcohol, specifically beer and wine, will continue to be served at multiple locations throughout Kenan Stadium this season.  Fans are limited to one alcoholic beverage per transaction.  Alcohol sales will be available starting when gates open until the end of the 3^rd quarter.

New Merchandise Location
Check out the newest Tar Heel Team Store location inside Kenan Stadium during any of our seven home games.  The new store is located inside of Gate 6.

Digital Ticketing
As instituted last season, all ticket purchasers will receive their tickets via email, allowing them to download their mobile tickets into their Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Pay Wallet (Android) or print their print-at-home tickets before arrival. Prior to entering the gates, ticketholders will take out their tickets (either the printable PDF or from their mobile wallet) to scan into the venue.

All fans will also have access to My Account 2.0 via their GoHeels.com/tickets account. My Account 2.0 eases the ability to transfer tickets to friends and family and has a seamless process to resell tickets on StubHub – all from your mobile phone! Digital Parking
Parking passes will be delivered electronically to Rams Club members who qualify based on giving level. If you have not received your parking passes, please contact the ticket office directly at 919-962-2296 or tickets@unc.edu to arrange for passes to be resent.

Turnkey Tailgating
Similar to seasons past, REVELXP will offer fans reserved tailgates in premium locations at football games including at the Bell Tower, the Amphitheater outside of the Kenan Football Center and other locations surrounding Kenan Stadium. Tailgate packages will include tents, chairs, tables, coolers, TV media packages, local catering options and beverage services and will accommodate groups as small as five guests up to 1,000. Kenan Pines
Kenan Pines – located in the woods at Kenan Stadium between Gates 2 and 3 – will provide an exclusive area for fans to utilize prior to and during the football game. The atmosphere will include food offerings, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, large TVs for viewing and yard games for more than 400 fans to enjoy.  Tickets will be required for entry. Water Policies
We want to make sure fans stay cool in Kenan this season!  Free water will be available on the concourse at every game.  Fans are also allowed to bring in up to two 20 oz. unopened bottles of water to use and refill to stay hydrated.

Stay up to date on Carolina Football by downloading our Weekly Game Day Guide featuring player stats, rosters and bios, and season records for UNC and their opponents every Wednesday leading up to game day.

Videoboard Messages
Want to share a birthday, anniversary, or other special message at Carolina Football game?  Fill out this form to get your special message displayed on the videoboard at any home UNC event this season.

Student Tickets
Student tickets will continue to be done via a lottery system.  UNC students should check their email for information on how to enter each game's lottery for a chance to claim a ticket.
For select games, students will be able to purchase guest passes for only $25.  This information will be announced in emails sent by the UNC Ticket Office.
