Navy Shuts Out Blue On Thursday Afternoon

Chapel Hill, NC -- Â The Navy squad defeated the Blue squad 6-0 in a six-inning scrimmage on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Eric Grintz ripped a two-run double to left to pust Navy up 2-0 in the second inning. Later in the inning, Patrick Alvarez drilled a two-run homer to left center for a 4-0 lead.
Johnny Castagnozzi drove in a run with a double for a 5-0 lead in the fifth, before Angel Zarate scored on a fielder's choice in the sixth for the final 6-0 score.
Alvarez added a double to go with his homer, and Mac Horvath's double was the only other extra base hit.
Navy outhit Blue by a 7-1 margin, while neither team committed an error.
Carson Starnes, Shawn Rapp, Caleb Cozart, Davis Palermo and Kyle Mott all saw action on the mound.
The Tar Heels will next scrimmage on Friday.
NOTE: A new version of Trackman was being installed during the scrimmage, so a box score wasn't able to be built, limiting scrimmage information.
