Babic Earns ACC Freshman Of The Week Honors For Second Straight Week

CHAPEL HILL - For the second week in a row, Anita Babic has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

In Carolina's two road victories at NC State and Duke this weekend, Babic combined for 69 assists, averaging 9.89 assists per set, 12 digs, 8 kills, 7 blocks and an ace.

The Phoenix, Arizona, native matched her career-best of six kills against the Wolfpack on Friday on .500 hitting.

Against the Blue Devils, Babic tallied 42 assists, her sixth of match of the season with forty or more assists, and set a new career-best with 5 blocks.

Babic, who has started all but one of Carolina's 21 matches this season, has recorded 669 assists, 120 digs, 66 kills, 35 blocks and 15 aces. She's averaging 9.15 assists per set in conference play, the most of any freshman in the league and sixth-most in the conference.
