Meet The Diamond Heels: Justin Szestowicki

Freshman infielder Justin Szestowicki is profiled in this installment of Meet The Diamond Heels series. A native of Mount Royal, N.J., Szestowicki was a four-year letterman at Kingsway High School and helped lead it to four conference championships.

Recently ranked as the No. 22 recruiting class in the country by DI Baseball, Carolina's crop of newcomers includes 12 freshmen and four transfers. Szestowicki came to UNC ranked as the one of the top 10 prospects in New Jersey and one the top 100 shortstops in the country.

Szestowicki was a Rawlings-Perfect Game All-Northeast Region First Team player as well as an honorable mention All-America selection. He was also named to the 2021 South Jersey Times All-Area Team in addition to being named the recipient of Kingsway Athletic Achievement Award.

He is the son of Sherry and Jim Szestowicki and has an older brother, Sean.
