CHAPEL HILL -Â Chris Gray scored the game-winner and led the team with six points as the North Carolina men's lacrosse team (8-4, 1-3 ACC) earned the crucial 14-13 win over Syracuse (4-8, 1-3 ACC).

- Syracuse's Jacob Buttermore quickly scored after 45 seconds of play to give the Orange the early lead.Â
- The Tar Heels would then reel off five straight goals to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter.Â
- Two late first-half goals by the Orange would trim the Tar Heel lead to one going into halftime. Â
- UNC would come out of the break hot, scoring four straight goals to extend their lead to 10-5.Â
- Syracuse would respond as three goals would trim the lead back down to two heading into the final quarter.Â
- The Orange would surge late and score four straight goals to take the lead with two minutes to go in the game.
- Lance Tillman would tie the game at 13 before Chris Gray played the hero and scored the game-winner with 15 seconds left to seal the victory.Â

- Chris Gray led the team with five goals and one assist. It is the 12th time in his career that he has scored five or more goals in a game.Â
- Nicky Solomon scored three goals to earn his third hat trick of the season.
- Lance Tillman and Dewey Egan would notch two goals. Tillman would also tie his career-high in assists with three.
- Jacob Kelly would dish out a team-high four assists.Â
- Cole Herbert and Alex Breschi would add one goal.Â
- The foursome of Zac Tucci, Andrew Tyeryar, Graham Schwartz, and Ryan O'Connell went a combined 12-30 at the face-off.
