Downs Scores Twice In 2022 #TyleeStrong Spring Game

Chapel Hill - Carolina hosted the #TyleStrong spring football game on a cloudy and cool Saturday afternoon on Chris Smith Field at Kenan Stadium. The game played between teams Carolina and Tar Heels ended in a 14-14 tie.

Game Notes

Jacoby Criswell connected with Josh Downs for the first score of the game on a 12-yard touchdown pass in the third series.
Downs scored again for Carolina off a 38-yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye on the fifth series.
Criswell found John Copenhaver for a 29-yard gain on the seventh possession to bring the ball to the one-yard line. D.J. Jones scored from a yard out on the next play.
Elijah Green's 36-yard rush brought the ball to the 11-yard line on the ninth possession. Green scored on a three-yard touchdown run to finish off the drive.
Maye was 9 of 12 for 113 yards and two passing touchdowns.
Criswell completed all six of his pass attempts for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Downs finished the game as the leading receiver with four catches for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Green's nine rushes for 61 yards and a touchdown led all rushers.
Kamarro Edmonds gained 50 yards on four rushing attempts.
Desmond Evans had two sacks on consecutive plays.
Jake Harkleroad picked off Jefferson Boaz for the game's only interception.
Cam'Ron Kelly had a game-high five tackles.
