Diamond Heels Welcome Charlotte To The Bosh

CHAPEL HILL - The Diamond Heels open the final month of the regular season Tuesday night against Charlotte at Boshamer Stadium. North Carolina is 21-5 at home this season, including a 16-1 record against non-conference opponents.
The game will be televised on the ACC Network beginning at 7 p.m.
North Carolina leads the all-time series 34-8-1 with a 19-4-1 record at Boshamer Stadium. The series began in 1979 with UNC recording an 8-1 victory; the first of seven straight by the Heels to start the series. Carolina won 15 consecutive games in the series from 1992 - 2008. The Niners won last year's meeting in Chapel Hill, 4-1 in 10 innings.

The Diamond Heels hit 24 home runs in 16 games, including 13 of the last 14, during the month of April. Mac Horvath blasted seven round trippers and Alberto Osuna circled the bases six times. • Serretti has started 165 consecutive games, including 132 at shortstop.
• Serretti ranks 27th among all active NCAA DI players in doubles and third among ACC players; Rafe Chaumette of Boston College and Pittsburgh's Jeff Wehler have 53 career doubles each.
BULLPEN APPEARANCES
• Shawn Rapp leads all NCAA DI players in pitching appearances this season with 31, including 30 relief appearances. He leads the Tar Heels with 12.7 strikeouts per nine innings.
• Junior Kyle Mott (24) and sophomore Davis Palermo (23) rank second and fourth in the ACC in pitching appearances. Palermo has appeared in 11 of the Tar Heels' last 13 games.
• Senior Caden O'Brien ranks fifth among all active Division I pitchers with 105 career appearances, which is tied for eighth-most in school history and one shy of seventh-place (106, Jonathan Hovis, 2003-06). His 99 career relief appearances are eighth-most among active DI pitchers.
