BELL TOWER WALK
Tar Heel fans of all ages are encouraged to welcome the team to the stadium on game day. While construction is ongoing during the 2022 season at the Kenan Football Center, the Carolina team buses will arrive between the Genome Sciences Building and the Sonja Haynes Stone Black Cultural Center two-and-a-half hours before kickoff. The team will march through the amphitheater to the front of the Kenan Football Center before entering the building.

TAR HEELS AND FIGHTING IRISH
• North Carolina and Notre Dame meet for the 23rd time in a series that began in 1949.
• Notre Dame leads the series 20-2-0. Both Carolina victories occurred in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels scored a 12-7 decision in 1960 and beat the Fighting Irish, 29-24, in 2008.
• In the previous 22 meetings, Notre Dame has been ranked in 15 of those. The Irish was ranked No. 1 in the country in three of the previous meetings and in the top 10 on nine occasions.
• North Carolina faced Notre Dame every season from 1949 to 1956 and 12 times between 1949 and 1962. This season will be the sixth meeting since 2006.
• The Tar Heels and Fighting Irish are playing for the third year in a row. UNC hosted Notre Dame in 2020, while the Irish welcomed the Tar Heels to Notre Dame Stadium last Oct. 31.
• The next meeting between the two programs is slated for Oct. 3, 2026 in Chapel Hill.

A VICTORY OVER NOTRE DAME MEANS...
• UNC would improve to 4-0 for the first time since 1997 when the Mack Brown led squad won the opening eight games that season.
• The 1997 season turned out to be Brown's final year of his first stint in Chapel Hill when he left to take over at Texas.

LAST TIME OUT
• Drake Maye passed for two touchdowns, Omarion Hampton ran for a pair of scores and North Carolina won 35-28 at Georgia State on Saturday, Sept. 10 in Atlanta.
• Hampton earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors behind a season-high 110 rushing yards and two scores, while Cedric Gray was named the league's linebacker of the week after coming up with 14 tackles.
