VB Caps Off Weekend With 3-0 Victory At Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Carolina volleyball team (9-8, 3-5 ACC) capped off a 2-0 weekend with a sweep over Boston College on Sunday afternoon. The Tar Heels outhit the Eagles .308 to .122, led by 12 kills from junior outside hitter Mabrey Shaffmaster.
Freshman outside hitter Safi Hampton tallied her first career double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs, while also contributing an ace and a block assist.
Graduate opposite Maria Miggins had her best showing as a Tar Heel, recording a season-high nine kills on .444 hitting. Carolina's middles, Sydney Nolan and Sadie Swift, also had a great showing against the Eagles, combining for 13 kills, six block assists and one solo block from Nolan.
Freshman setter Zoe Behrendt quarterbacked the offense, setting a new career-best of 35 assists, while sophomore libero Maddy May had 11 digs.
This is Carolina's sixth straight-set victory of the season and second in conference play.
Up next, the Tar Heels travel to Clemson on Oct. 20 for a 7 p.m. clash with the Tigers.
