VB Falls To No. 13 Georgia Tech In Four

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Carolina volleyball team (10-9, 4-6 ACC) fell to No. 13 Georgia Tech (17-3, 8-2 ACC) in four sets on Sunday afternoon in O'Keefe Gym (15-25, 16-25, 26-24, 17-25).
Graduate outside Emani' Foster led the offense with 15 kills and a team-best .324 hitting percentage, while freshman setter Zoe Behrendt ran the offense with 39 assists in her third straight start.
The Tar Heels struggled both against the Yellow Jacket block and blocking them, finishing the match with a season-low two blocks compared to 11 from Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets also held the hitting percentage advantage, .349-.207, and an advantage at the service line with seven aces to just a pair from Carolina.
After a three-match hiatus, freshman opposite Romani Thurman contributed seven kills while junior outside hitter Mabrey Shaffmaster had nine kills, four digs and an ace.
Sophmore libero Maddy May was the only Tar Heel with double-digit digs with 10.
Up next, the Tar Heels have a short turnaround, traveling to Durham for a 6:30 p.m. match on Wednesday at Duke.
