VB Falls To Duke In Four

DURHAM, N.C. – The Carolina volleyball team (10-10, 4-7 ACC) fell to Duke (14-8, 5-6 ACC) in four sets on Wednesday night in Cameron Indoor Stadium. It's the Tar Heels' first loss in Durham since 2017 and snapped a five-match win streak against the Blue Devils.
Carolina was blocked a season-high 15 times, while tallying just six blocks as a team.
Three Tar Heels had double-digit kills on the night: Emani' Foster (15), Mabrey Shaffmaster (13) and Sydney Nolan (10). Nolan, who's 10 kills is a new career-best, hit .833 and contributed three blocks, including Carolina's sole solo block.
Shaffmaster recorded her third double-double of the season and second in ACC play with 13 kills and 12 digs.
Maddy May led the match with 21 digs, just one dig shy of matching her career best. Zoe Behrendt and Anita Babic split time at setter, combining for 43 of the Tar Heels' 48 assists.
The Tar Heels were outhit .318-.197, the fifth time this season an opponent has hit above .300.
