CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina volleyball team (7-7, 1-4 ACC) battled Friday night with No. 6 Louisville, but ultimately fell to the Cardinals in four sets.

Graduate outside hitter Emani' Foster led the offense with a match-best 16 kills, while freshman outside hitter Safi Hampton had 12 kills. Sophomore setter Anita Babic led the defense with 13 digs and quarterbacked the offense with 35 assists.

The Tar Heels came out hot, taking the first set 25-19, led by three kills from Foster, before dropping the next three sets. Carolina has taken the first set from the Cardinals in the last four meetings.

Service errors plagued both teams, with eight from the Cardinals and seven from the Tar Heels. Louisville outhit the Tar Heels .246-.203 and both teams had seven blocks apiece.

NOTABLES:

Anita Babic tallied her third double-double of the season, matching a career-best of 13 digs to go with 35 assists
Marissa Meyerhoefer had a career-best 11 digs
Safi Hampton set two new career-bests with three block assists and three assists
With 10 digs, Maddy May had her 11^th double-digit dig performance of the season

The Tar Heels will cap off the weekend on Sunday, hosting Notre Dame at 1 p.m. in Carmichael Arena.
