VB Hosts Duke Friday In Season Finale

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina volleyball team (12-14, 6-11 ACC) will wrap up the 2023 season on Friday afternoon with a 2 p.m. matchup with Duke in Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels are looking to avenge a 3-1 loss to the Blue Devils in October that snapped a five-match winning streak over Duke.

The match will air on ACCNX with Rob Connett and Paul MacDonald on the call.

Junior Mabrey Shaffmaster had a career-best 27 kills at Duke as a freshman on Nov. 26, 2021. She's coming off a 25-kill performance against FSU on Nov. 19 – her third match with 20 or more kills this season
Freshman Sydney Nolan has the third-highest hitting percentage (.405) in ACC play of any player in the conference. She's hitting .403 on the overall season and would become the first Tar Heel to have a hitting percentage over .400 (min. 100 attempts) since Beth Nordham (.446) in 2016
The Tar Heels will be honoring two seniors on Friday – graduate students Kaya Merkler and Maria Miggins in their last collegiate match
