No. 10 Ohio State Downs Men's Lacrosse, 8-5

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Behind two goals from Kyle Borda and 12 saves courtesy of Skylar Wahlund, No. 10 Ohio State (3-0) defeated the No. 19-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team in a defensive battle Sunday afternoon.Â

- Johnny Schwarz and Sean Goldsmith found the back of the net in the first quarter, as UNC led 2-1 over the Buckeyes following the opening 15 minutes.Â
- Following an Ohio State goal, Paul Barton and Logan McGovern rounded out the first half scoring for North Carolina, as the visiting Tar Heels led 4-2 entering the half.
- The defensive battle continued in the third quarter, as Ohio State scored the lone goal in the quarter, however UNC held a one-goal edge entering the fourth.Â
- Ohio State rattled off four-straight goals to begin the fourth, however Ty English stopped the scoring break to trim the deficit.Â
- With less than two minutes remaining, the Buckeyes sealed the victory scoring the matchup's final goal.Â
- Five different Tar Heels found the back of the net in the contest.Â
- Eight players recorded multiple groundballs, led by Andrew Tyeryar's five.Â
- Goalkeeper Collin Krieg stopped a game-high 13 shots.Â
- Tyeryar finished the game 10-17 at the faceoff X.Â
- UNC still leads the all-time series against Ohio State, 15-4. The Buckeyes are now the winners of three-straight in the matchup.Â
- Goldsmith and McGovern have scored goals in the first three games of their Tar Heel careers.Â
- Krieg stopped 10-or-more shots for the eighth-straight game, and the 24th contest of his career.Â
- English's fourth quarter goal was the first of his collegiate career.Â
