Softball Drops Game Two At Georgia Tech, 12-5

Skyler Brooks led the Tar Heels at the plate with a pair of hits, while Alex Brown extended her hit streak to 15 with an infield single.
Kiersten Licea got the Heels on the board early in the top of the first with an RBI double, plating Bri Stubbs who had reached on a fielder's choice.
Georgia Tech then recorded back-to-back singles to open the bottom of the first before drawing a walk to load the bases. The Yellow Jackets then hit their third grand slam of the season, making it 4-1 after one.
Carolina got a run back in the top of the second inning. Kianna Jones, who was on first base after being hit by a pitch, scored on a throwing error by the Yellow Jackets, making it a 4-2 game.
After a scoreless third inning, Georgia Tech added to their lead with a three-run home run in the fourth to make it 7-3.
The Tar Heels tallied back-to-back RBI doubles from Bri Stubbs and Carlie Myrtle in the top of the fifth to make it a four-run, 7-4 game.
The Yellow Jackets walked in a run in the bottom of the fifth to plate their eighth run of the day, 8-4.
Jones hit a solo home run to open the sixth, her fourth of the season, Carolina's final run of the day.
Georgia Tech scored four runs on three hits and an error in the bottom of the sixth, securing a 12-5 victory.
Kenna Raye Dark took the loss in the circle, allowing four earned runs. Carlie Myrtle, Talia Hannappel and Bailey McCachren combined to pitch the remainder of the game.
Carolina will look to clinch the series tomorrow at 1 p.m.
