No. 5 Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Pitt Friday Afternoon

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 5 University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team returns to Dorrance Field on Friday, April 7, to host Pitt for a 2 p.m. ET Atlantic Coast Conference game that will air on ACCNX.

Tickets are available for purchase here. The game will be a doubleheader with UNC men's lacrosse, and one ticket will gain entry to both events.

Friday's doubleheader will also mark the first-ever Dogs at Dorrance. The first 250 dogs and their owners will receive a Carolina Lacrosse dog collar. All dog seating will be available in sections 19 and 20.

Tar Heel Tidbits

With 17 on the year so far, Caitlyn Wurzburger is two assists away from ranking seventh all-time in UNC history for career assists with 78.
Wurzburger is also four goals away from reaching 100 in her career. She is 28 points shy of being included on UNC's all-time career points list (minimum 200).
Reilly Casey has 27 assists so far this season, which ranks 13th on UNC's all-time single-season list. She is four away from cracking into the top-10.
Wurzburger and Marissa White have both scored at least one goal in every contest so far this season. Those two have combined for 31% of all of UNC's goals.
37.7% of North Carolina's goals this year have been from true freshmen.
UNC's defense has been limiting its opponents to 8.3 goals per game overall and 7.0 goals per game at home.
North Carolina has the fewest turnovers of any ACC team with 9.73 per game.

This will be the third meeting between North Carolina (9-2, 5-1) and Pitt (4-9, 0-6) in history with the Tar Heels leading the series at 2-0. This is the first game between the two programs in Chapel Hill.

UNC defeated Pitt, 15-5, during the regular season in 2022 before a 15-6 victory in the ACC Quarterfinals. Wurzburger had three goals and three assists across both games while Olivia Dirks had a hat trick in the quarterfinals.
