All-Time Against The Greyhounds
• This is the fifth all-time matchup between the programs, the first since 2021.
• In 2021, the two programs met in the NCAA Tournament, with UNC advancing 4-2 on penalty kicks.
• The first showdown between the two schools came in 1947, a 4-0 Greyhound victory.
• Carolina's first victory in the series was in 1948, a 3-2 Tar Heel edge in Chapel Hill.
New Faces in Chapel Hill
• The program welcomes 14 new student-athletes this fall.
• The newcomers include five transfers and nine freshmen.
• Transfers Vemund Hole Vik (Elon), Quenzi Huerman (Seton Hall), Martin Vician (Harvard), David Bercedo (Quinnipiac), and Collin Travasos (Cal) join Carolina after previous seasons at other institutions.
• The transfer group bring experience to the Tar Heels, with 240 career appearances.
Williams Collects Preseason ACC Honors
• Midfielder Sam Williams was named to the 2023 ACC Preseason Watch List, the league announced on August 16.
• The sophomore builds on a resume which includes an ACC All-Freshman Team nod a season ago.
• Last season, Williams appeared in 17 contests, earning the start 14 times.
• The Tenafly, N.J. native finished fourth on the Tar Heels with two goals and six points, while logging 1,262 minutes of action.
• Last season, Williams played the full 90 minutes on four occasions.
• Additionally in the classroom, Williams collected All-ACC Academic Team honors.
• In January, Williams was called up to the U19 Men's National Team training camp roster, being just one of two college players to earn the selection.
Bercedo, Hole Vik Land On Watch Lists
• Forward David Bercedo and defender Vemund Hole Vik were named to the United Soccer Coaches Players To Watch, announced in August.
• Bercedo, one of six from the ACC on the forward list, enters his first season in Chapel Hill after spending the previous three seasons at Quinnipiac and his freshman campaign at Ohio Valley.
• Last season, Bercedo led Quinnipiac with 14 goals, as his 35 points on the season was the fourth-most in the nation.
• In 60 career collegiate games, Bercedo has scored 28 goals and dished out 15 assists.
• Hole Vik arrives in Chapel Hill after spending the last four seasona at Elon.
• The 2022 CAA Defensive Player of the Year, Hole Vik was an All-Atlantic Region First Team Choice, and named a Scholar All-America for efforts in the classroom.

• The 2023 roster is represented by 10 countries: Germany, Norway, Slovakia, Argentina, France, China, Spain, Australia, Ghana, and the United States.
• In addition to the international flare the roster brings, a total of 14 states are represented on the roster: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Virginia.
