WBB Will Face Competitive Field At Gulf Coast Showcase

The North Carolina women's basketball team will enjoy warm temperatures as it celebrates Thanksgiving this year, competing at the Clean Simple Eats Gulf Coast Showcase in the Fort Myers, Fla., area. Â The eight-team tournament is set for Nov. 24-26 at Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla. Â UNC, which opens against Vermont on Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m., in is one of six teams in the field that participated in postseason play last season.
In addition to UNC, which reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023, the field includes NCAA runner-up Iowa and tournament participants Florida Gulf Coast and Vermont. Kansas State and Western Kentucky both competed in the WNIT. Delaware and Purdue Fort Wayne round out the field.

The action starts on Black Friday with four matchups: Kansas State vs. Western Kentucky at 11 a.m.; the Tar Heels vs. the Catamounts at 1:30; Florida Gulf Coast vs. Delaware at 5 and Iowa vs. Purdue Fort Wayne at 7:30.

Game times stay the same each day, with winners advancing to the 5 and 7:30 p.m. games on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
