
Brooks & Rucker Named ACC Players Of The Week

Charlotte, N.C. - After a season-opening victory over South Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina running back British Brooks and Jack Kaimon Rucker were named ACC Players of the Week Tuesday afternoon.
Brooks, a graduate student from Gastonia, rushed for a team-high 103 yards on 15 carries against the Gamecocks. In addition, Brooks had three receptions for 18 yards.
Saturday was Brooks' first game back since the 2021 season.
Rucker, a senior from Hartwell, Georgia, tallied eight tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks in the season-opening win.
Rucker was also tabbed the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week following last week's game.
The Tar Heels will be back in action Saturday, hosting in-state rival Appalachian State in the 2023 home-opener at Kenan Stadium. North Carolina and App State will kickoff at 5:15 and will be televised on the ACC Network.
