CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—The Atlantic Coast Conference released its 2024-25 preseason poll on Tuesday evening, picking North Carolina to finish second in the standings this season. Meanwhile, Tar Heel fifth-year guard RJ Davis was a unanimous pick for the Preseason All-ACC First Team and the overwhelming choice as Preseason ACC Player of the Year.
The media assembled at last week's ACC Tipoff in Charlotte voted on the preseason poll and individual awards released on Tuesday.
Carolina received 11 first-place votes and 924 overall points in the poll, trailing only first-place Duke's 42 first-place nods and 956 points. Third-place Wake Forest received the only other first-place vote and tallied 800 points in the voting.
