October 30, 2024 | Women's Gymnastics
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina gymnastics head coach Danna Durante has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025 season, featuring five home meets at Carmichael Arena.Â
2025 will be UNC's second year competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Gymnastics became the league's 28th sponsored sport ahead of the 2024 season, and six teams now have gymnastics with the addition of Cal and Stanford.Â
Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. Single meet tickets will be available in December.
Fans can get their first look at the Tar Heels on Dec. 16 for the annual Blue and White Intrasquad inside Carmichael Arena. The fun, spirited meet will be open to the public and free of charge.
The team officially kicks off the new season on Jan. 10 with a road trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to take on the Crimson Tide. Alabama was ranked No. 8 at the conclusion of last season, marking the Tar Heels' first of five dual meets against teams that finished in the top 15 in 2024. Â
Carolina comes back to Chapel Hill for a two-meet home stand beginning with its home opener on Jan. 17 against George Washington. The team will then host in-state and conference rival NC State a week later on Jan. 24 to open ACC action.Â
A new era in the ACC will take place on Jan. 31 as the Tar Heels head west for a visit to Palo Alto, California, to face Stanford. It will be another top-10 showdown as the Cardinal ended the 2024 campaign at No. 5.
Conference competition continues on Feb. 9 when Clemson comes to Chapel Hill for UNC's third home meet. The squad then heads to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for a Valentine's Day date with Pitt on Feb. 14 before returning to North Carolina to again meet NC State, this time in Raleigh on Feb. 21.
The Tar Heels then have a quick turnaround, traveling to Fort Worth, Texas – the site of the NCAA Championship – for the Metroplex Challenge Dual against six-time national champion Oklahoma on Feb. 23. The Sooners were slotted at No. 6 last season.
Penn, Temple and Yale trek to Chapel Hill for the UNC Quad Meet on Feb. 28 for Carolina's penultimate home meet. The team concludes the regular season at home against Western Michigan on March 14, which will serve as Senior Day presented by Carolina Alumni.
Prior to hosting the Broncos, UNC makes its way back to Alabama for Elevate the Stage, a championship-caliber invitational, on March 9 in Huntsville which features a quad meet against Alabama, Cal and Michigan State. Results against Cal – last year's national runner-up – will count towards ACC competition. Cal ended 2024 at No. 2 nationally with MSU at No. 14.Â
Tickets for Elevate the Stage can be purchased here.
Postseason competition is slated for March 22 with the ACC Championships being held in nearby Greensboro, North Carolina. NCAA Regionals are scheduled for April 2-6 at various locations and the NCAA Championship is set for April 17-19 in Fort Worth.
TV selections will be announced at a later date. Times are subject to change.
