Heels Begin Fifth Week Of Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels began their fifth week of Fall Ball with a six-inning scrimmage on Wednesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium that saw the Navy squad take a 12-3 win over Blue. There were a combined 21 hits for the day and two errors.
Offensive highlights:: Hunter Stokely was 4-5 with five RBI and one run scored. Stokely drilled a 377-foot homer to left center to go with a double. Sam Angelo, who belted a 424-foot home run to right, was 3-4 with four RBI and four runs scored.Â
Tyson Bass was 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Bass ripped a 383-foot homer to left as well as a double. Gavin Gallaher was 3-3 with one run scored. Parker McCoy was 2-2 with a pair of doubles. Kane Kepley, who had a double, was 2-2 with two runs scored.
Pitching highlights:Â Hugh Collins and Will Simmons threw for Navy, with Ryan Hench, John Hughes, Andrew Wallen and Harrison Lewis seeing action for Blue. Collins gave up one earned run in 4.0 innings while striking ot four and issuing no walks. Simmons gave up one earned run in is 2.0 innings of work.
Carolina will hold its next scrimmage on Thursday afternoon.
