Women’s Fencing Set To Face Eight Ranked Teams, Men To Face Six This Weekend

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina Fencing jets off to Philadelphia to fence in the Elite Invitational this weekend, one of the toughest competitions this season, with both the men's and women's fields being almost exclusively comprised up of ranked schools.
The meet takes place on Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17 in the University of Pennsylvania's Tse Center.
The Tar Heels opened the season strong two weeks ago. The women's squad is coming off a win against No. 6 Duke, which was highlighted by Epee posting an 8-1 record. While the men's squad dropped a close first dual to No. 10 Duke, one of the bright spots was Nicky Winds' 3-0 start to the season against Duke.
