Women’s Lacrosse Blitzes High Point, 23-3

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The eighth-ranked University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team scored early and often, cruising to a 23-3 win over High Point on Sunday afternoon at Dorrance Field.
Following the victory, the Tar Heels improve to 4-1 (1-0 ACC) on the year while the Panthers drop to 1-2 (0-0 Big South).

How It Happened
- Carolina's first goal came 44 seconds after the initial whistle, prompting a 4-0 run in the opening four minutes. Ashley Humphrey had a goal and three assists in that early stretch.
- The Tar Heels allowed only one goal in the first quarter, ending on a 5-0 run to hold a 9-1 lead after 15 minutes.
- Six different Tar Heels scored in the second frame to extend Carolina's lead. Olivia Dirks made it a hat trick with the first goal of the second quarter with 8:51 on the clock.
- UNC, whose defense did not allow HPU to score during the second quarter, carried a sizable 15-1 lead heading into the break.
- The home team kept the Panthers scoreless from 9:08 in the first quarter until 3:01 in the third. The Tar Heels found the back of the net 15 times during that streak.
- With Julia O'Connor scoring her first two goals in Carolina blue and Eva Ingrilli getting a hat trick, the Tar Heels built their lead to 20-2 after three.
- Reilly Casey became the third player with a hat trick, doing so with just under four minutes left on the clock.
- Ella Cabrera's first career goal in the game's final seconds sealed a dominant 23-3 win for the home team, which remains undefeated this year at Dorrance Field.

- UNC dominated every statistical category, out-shooting HPU 41-11 and 28-10 on goal.
- Eleven players had a goal while 12 had a point. Humphrey recorded eight points and Casey finished with six.

- Wurzburger also extended her streak of recording at least one point in every game since April 21, 2022 (a 32-game streak).
- With her eight points, Humphrey has now recorded at least one point in 41 of her 42 career appearances.
- UNC has won 69 of its last 76 games, and 77 of its last 85 games.
- The Tar Heels have scored double-figure goals 80 times in their last 85 games.
