Kovacs And Wood Earn Top-12 Finishes At April NAC, Division I National Championships

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Highlighted by a pair of top-12 finishes, the North Carolina fencing team wrapped up the 2022-24 season at the Division One National Championships/April NAC on Sunday in Salt Lake City. The competition, which took place at the Salt Palace Convention Center, ran for four days, from April 25-28.

The Tar Heels had six competitors in their final meet: Elden Wood, Sophia Kovacs, Logan Gatza, Nicole Milewski, Boris Muga and Shekar Jayendra.

Wood and Kovacs both shined in saber for the Tar Heels, with each finishing in the top-12 in their respective fields.
