Yarlagadda Earns All-America Status; Crawley And Tanguilig Advance

STILLWATER, OKLA. — Three Tar Heels continued competition in the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship on Tuesday while a pair of Carolina doubles duos began play in the NCAA Doubles Championship.
Once again, Anika Yarlagadda began the day with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Carolyn Ansari (Auburn) to advance to the round of 16. With the win, Yarlagadda earned All-American status.
Elizabeth Scotty and Fiona Crawley dropped their second round singles matchups.
The third round of the NCAA Singles Championship takes place tomorrow with the quarterfinals on Thursday, semifinals on Friday and the Championship match on Saturday.
In the first round of NCAA doubles action, Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig defeated Alabama's Hiser and Bencheikh 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) in the first round.
Abbey Forbes and Reilly Tran fell in their first round matchup.
The NCAA Doubles Championship will take place over the next few days with one round happening each day and the championship match also taking place on Saturday.
