Heels Begin Fourth Week Of Scrimmages On Monday

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels began their fourth week of Fall scrimmages with a rare Monday afternoon scrimmage that lasted 5.5 innings and ended in a 2-2 tie. Each squad had four hits, and there were no errors.
Offensive highlights: Sawyer Black and Alex Madera combined for Navy's four total base hits. Black, who drilled a 384-foot homer to right-center, was 2-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Madera was 2-3 at the plate. Kane Kepley, Sam Angelo, Gavin Gallaher and Carter French all had one base hit for Blue. Angelo had a double to right-center.
Pitching highlights: Ryan Hench, Mason Yokum and Harrison Lewis threw for Navy, while John Hughes and Hugh Collins pitched for Blue. Hughes gave up one run in 3.2 innings while striking out three batters. Yokum and Lewis each retired the side in order in the one inning they pitched.
Carolina will hold its next scrimmage on Thursday.
