Saturday's Scrimmage Ends First Week Of Fall Action

Chapel Hill, NC --Â The North Carolina Tar Heels capped off the first week of Fall scrimmages with a 5 1/2 inning scrimmage on Saturday morning at Boshamer Stadium that saw Navy and Blue battle to a 4-4 tie. The Heels were originally scheduled to scrimmage on Sunday but that scrimmage was canceled.
Offensive highlights: Three players had multiple base hits. Sam Angelo was 3-3 with two RBI. Two of Angelo's base hits were doubles. Macaddin Dye was 2-2 with one RBI and two runs scored, while Rom Kellis was 2-3 with two RBI. Kellis and Dye each had a double. Boaz Harper's double was the only other extra base hit.
Pitching highlights: Six pitchers saw action on Saturday. Dylan Weber, Andrew Wallen and Hugh Collins threw for Navy while Tom Chmielewski, Riley Leatherman and Harrison Lewis pitched for Blue. Leatherman hurled 3.0 scoreless innings by giving up just one base hit while striking out one and walking one while facing eleven hitters.
The Tar Heels will scrimmage on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday this week.
