MAC Hermann Trophy Banquet Takes Place Friday
January 2, 2025 | Women's Soccer
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The winner of the prestigious 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy will be announced on Friday, Jan. 3, during a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. North Carolina women's soccer standout Kate Faasse is one of three finalists.
The announcement will be streamed live at 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT) and will then resume at 8:30 p.m. ET for the awards banquet. Faasse joins Duke's Maggie Graham and Wake Forest's Caiya Hanks up for the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer.
The live stream can be found HERE.
Faasse, a junior forward, is the first Tar Heel to be a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist since Brianna Pinto in 2020. She is the 20th player in program history to be named a finalist at least once in their career.Â
Carolina has had seven players win a combined nine Hermann Trophies, the most by any school. The last recipient was Crystal Dunn in 2012.
A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Faasse guided the Tar Heels to their 23rd national championship after leading the nation with 20 goals and eight game-winning goals. She also ranks first in the Atlantic Coast Conference and second in the NCAA with 44 points.Â
No stranger to awards this year, Faasse was tabbed TopDrawer Soccer Player of the Year, TDS Best XI First Team, All-America First Team, All-Atlantic Region First Team, All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team and ACC All-Tournament Team. She was also selected as a finalist for the prestigious Honda Award for Soccer.
