Acclaim For Kelly Continues, Garnering USBWA Weekly Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – The acclaim for Reniya Kelly continues; after earning Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week yesterday the sophomore guard has been named one of the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women's honorees of the week.
Averaging 21.5 points per game in two home wins against Virginia Tech and No. 10 NC State, Kelly became the first Tar Heel to post back-to-back 20-point performances this season. Against the Wolfpack on Sunday, Kelly tallied a career-high 23 points while draining a single-game best five triples.
Coming into her own in her second season in Chapel Hill, the Hoover, Ala. Native has started in all 27 games for Carolina and is currently riding a six-game streak scoring in double-figures. Kelly currently averages 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting at a 47.3% clip from the field.
Kelly and the No. 9 Tar Heels are back on Thursday as Carolina visits Syracuse at 6 p.m. ET. Looking to remain undefeated on the road, action against the Orange can be caught on ACC Network.
