This Weekend At Dorrance Field
• Friday's matchup with Penn is Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, with all UNC employees receiving free tickets upon showing their One Card.
• Sunday's game between the Tar Heels and Tigers is Kids Club Day, with the first 500 kids in attendance receiving free UNC thundersticks.
• Scheduling note: Sunday's game which was previously scheduled for Noon, will now begin at 11 AM.
Last Time Out
• Dominic Pietramala's six-goal effort fueled the Tar Heels over No. 4 Johns Hopkins, 13-12, Saturday at Homewood Field.
• Carolina opened the game with three goals in the opening 60 seconds, courtesy of Owen Duffy, Pietramala and Leif Hagerup.
• Saturday's win was the eighth-straight for Carolina at Homewood Field, helping the Tar Heels begin the 2025 campaign 3-0 for the first time since 2021.
A Win Over Penn On Friday Would.....
• Give Carolina their 10th win over the Quakers, including the second-straight.
• Help Carolina start 4-0 for the first time since 2021, the 20th time in program history.
• Be Coach Breschi's 255th career win, and 163rd win as the Tar Heels' leader.
Ivy League Weekend
• For the second-straight season, Carolina will face Penn and Princeton in a weekend doubleheader at Dorrance Field.
• Last year's results:
- 3/1/2024 vs. No. 14 Princeton: L, 15-9
- 3/3/2024 vs. No. 17 Penn: W, 13-9
Petro's Hot Start
• In last Saturday's win at No. 4 Johns Hopkins, attackman Dominic Pietramala led the Tar Heels with six goals, a career-high.
• The Lutherville, Md. product became the first Tar Heel with six-or-more goals since Chris Gray vs. Denver (3/5/2022).
• To begin the 2025 campaign, the redshirt-sophomore has 15 goals through three games, the most for a Tar Heel through the opening three games this century:
- 2025: Dominic Pietramala - 15 goals
- 2021: Chris Gray - 13 goals
- 2005: Mike McCall - 13 goals
Into the Top-Five
• In this week's USILA Coaches' Poll, the Tar Heels were slotted at No. 4, following the 3-0 start to the campaign.
• The top-five ranking is the first for Carolina since the Feb. 14, 2022 poll.
