No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Hosts Cal For Senior Day On Sunday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 1 North Carolina women's lacrosse will face Cal for the first time in program history for Senior Day on Sunday. The Senior Day ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. and first draw is set for 11 a.m. at Dorrance Field.

The game will air on ACC Network with Mike Corey and Rachael DeCecco on the call. In addition, the first 250 fans in Dorrance Field will receive free thunder sticks!

Ten Things to Know

This will mark the first meeting between UNC and Cal in women's lacrosse.
The Tar Heels are ranked No. 1 in the country for the first time since week five of the 2023 season.
UNC is the only undefeated team in the country after snapping Boston College's 21-game winning streak last Saturday. The Tar Heels current 13-game winning streak is the longest in the nation, three games ahead of Princeton's 10-game streak.
With its win over Boston College, UNC has defeated eight Top 25 teams, including four over Top 5 teams.
Through 13 games, Carolina has outscored its opponents 226-79. UNC ranks second in both the ACC and NCAA in scoring offense with 17.4 goals per game.
Carolina's defense has held opponents to 6.1 goals per game, which ranks first in both the ACC and NCAA. The team has only allowed two double-digit scoring efforts all year. UNC has kept its opponent scoreless in 14 quarters across 13 games, including two quarters in Wednesday's victory over ECU.
Betty Nelson and Lexi Zenk have combined to give UNC a .546 save percentage, which ranks second in the country. Nelson's 6.99 goals-against average ranks first nationally.
Ashley Humphrey is currently sixth on UNC's all-time assists list (89) and third on the single-season list (51). Her 3.9 assists per game lead the country (51 in 13 games). She is the NCAA's active leader in assists (219) and assists per game (3.32) and ranks second in points per game (4.97).
Marissa White's four goals at ECU were a season high, bettering her hat trick against Temple. White ranks second on the team in goals this season with 24.
Caroline Godine netted her second consecutive hat trick and the 10th of her career at ECU. She now has 12 goals on the season and six over her last two games.
