Tar Heels Add Nyla Harris From Louisville To 2025-26 Roster
April 4, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Coming off its 19th Sweet 16 appearance, North Carolina women's basketball is already reloading for next season with head coach Courtney Banghart announcing the addition of Nyla Harris from Louisville.
"We went into the post season really excited about our returning roster and very intentional about who and what we added. Nyla is the perfect fit," said Banghart. "She is a proven winner in our conference, an elite rebounder, and high motor two-way contributor in the ACC. She will bring great experience, and her personality lights up the room. Importantly, Nyla is hungry to be a part of this special team and she will make us better."
The rising senior joins UNC after appearing in 105 games for the Cardinals, making 81 starts. This past season, the 6-2 forward averaged 8.6 points per game along with 5.3 rebounds per outing.
As a sophomore, the Orlando, Fla., native averaged a career-best 10.4 points per game, tallied a career-high 22 points at Syracuse and snagged a career-best 15 rebounds against Florida State. She boasts 33 games in double-figure scoring and eight double-doubles.
Harris joins a Tar Heel team who is set to return 11 letter-winners and two starters from a squad that earned 29 wins and is coming off its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
