Queiroz Running It Back With Brazil, Competing At 2025 GloblJam
August 11, 2025 | Women's Basketball
TORONTO – Heading back on the international stage, North Carolina Women's Basketball freshman Taissa Queiroz will once again represent her native country of Brazil this summer by heading to the 2025 GloblJam. U-23 teams from around the globe will go head-to-head in Toronto from Aug. 13-17.
A native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Queiroz most recently represented her country this past spring for the Tour Brazil at the WNBA. Queiroz faced off against two WNBA squads in preseason exhibitions, going against the Chicago Sky in Baton Rouge and the Indiana Fever in Iowa City in May.Â
In Canada, Queiroz and Brazil will play three pool play games to earn a shot at playing in the gold medal game. Queiroz also has a chance to face off against a Carolina opponent, as Texas will represent the United States in the event. The Longhorns and Tar Heels are scheduled to play on Dec. 4 in Austin in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
Queiroz joined the Tar Heels this past spring to practice with Carolina prior to the 2025-26 season. A four-star prospect by ESPN out of Cardinal Newman High School, Queiroz looks to be an integral part of the Carolina frontcourt this season.
All games from Toronto's Mattamy Athletic Centre will be broadcast and streamed on Sportsnet platforms.
