Women's Soccer Falls To Florida State, 1-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 18 University of North Carolina women's soccer (7-3, 1-1 ACC) fell 1-0 against No. 7 Florida State (7-0-1, 3-0 ACC) Wednesday night at Dorrance Field.
The Tar Heels were put under pressure early in the 6th minute when Florida State's Wrianna Hudson found herself alone in front of the net. Hudson put the ball on target, but Abby Gundry made an impressive save in goal for UNC.
Gundry again was called upon to keep the Seminoles off the board in the 34th minute when a ball was slipped through to Florida State's Solai Washington. Gundry came charging out of the net to make the stop and hold the game at 0-0.
Kate Faasse picked up the game's first yellow card in the 42nd minute. Reenergized after the card, she flew down the left side of the pitch and barely missed the net on the Tar Heels' best chance of the match.
The teams headed into halftime knotted at zero all.
Florida State found the back of the net first in the 59th minute off a header from Jordynn Dudley to give the Seminoles a 1-0 advantage.
The Tar Heels had a flurry of chances throughout the second half but were unable to convert resulting in their first home loss of the season.
