Tar Heels Scrimmage For Nine Innings On Sunday

Chapel Hill, NC--Â With rain in the forecast this week and a game with Walters State on the horizon, the North Carolina Tar Heels held a full nine-inning scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at an overcast Boshamer Stadium.Â
Offensive Highlights:Â Owen Hull was 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Hull blasted a 414-foot home run off the batters eye as well as a double. Only two other players had multiple base hits. Michael Maginnis was 2-4 with one RBI and a double, and Perry Hargett was 2-4.Â
Erik Paulsen had a 370-foot homer to left center, while Jake Schaffner belted a 391-foot homer to right center. Gavin Gallaher, Lee Sowers and Colin Hynek each had a double.
Pitching Highlights:Â Eleven pitchers threw, with nine of them tossing one inning apiece. Jackson Rose threw 2.0 scoreless innings as 12 of his 17 pitches were strikes. Boston Flannery also went 2.0 innings, giving up one run while striking out two and walking none.
Camron Seagraves and Tom Chmielewski each retired all three batters they faced, with Seagraves fanning two and Chmielewski one. Seven of Chmielewski's nine pitches were strikes. Walker McDuffie also threw a scoreless inning.
The Tar Heels will play host to Walters State at 4:00 pm on Friday.
