Carolina competes for the third time this season when the 14th-ranked Tar Heels head to historic Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth for the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational presented by Charles Schwab.

UNC is one of 13 ranked teams in the field that also includes No. 1 Auburn, No. 2 Arizona State, No. 5 Texas, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Oklahoma, No. 8 Virginia, No. 11 Alabama, No. 14 North Carolina, No. 16 Texas A&M, No. 18 Georgia Tech, No. 19 Texas Tech, No. 20 Pepperdine, No. 21 Georgia, Stanford and TCU.

This is the fourth consecutive season the Tar Heels are playing in the Hogan. UNC won the tournament in 2022-23, finished second a season later and fourth last fall. Austin Greaser finished third in 2022, while David Ford placed fourth in 2023 and was medalist last year after rounds of 69-65-67 for a winning score of 9-under 201.

Head coach Andrew DiBitetto's squad was sixth in the season-opening Sahalee Players Championship in Sammamish, Wash., and finished second in the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in Lake Bluff, Ill.

The Tar Heels shot 11 under par for second place in stroke play and lost to LSU in the championship match in the Stephens Cup. Keaton Vo tied for third after shooting 67-68 over the final 36 holes of stroke play, and Andrew Riley opened with a 5-under 65 and tied for seventh.

Niall Sheils Donegan made his debut in the UNC lineup. He and Sihan Sandhu sent their respective matches against LSU to extra holes by winning the 17th and 18th holes. Both of their matches went unfinished after the Tigers clinched the team point and the title.

The medalist receives an invitation to play in the PGA TOUR's 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge, which Tar Heel alumnus Ben Griffin won this year at Colonial.
