Men's Soccer Travels To Raleigh Friday Night To Face Wolfpack

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina men's soccer will head over to Raleigh on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. for an ACC showdown with NC State at Dail Soccer Field. Tickets for the match are free. The Heels enter conference play at 3-1-0, while NC State sits at 3-0-0.

Carolina's match with NC State will air on ACC Network with Joseph Malfa and Devon Kerr on the call.

Tar Heel Tidbits

This will be the 94th match-up in series history between Carolina and NC State with the Tar Heels holding a 57-22-14 advantage.
Head Coach Carlos Somoano is in his 15th season at the helm of Carolina soccer (24th overall). He holds a career record of 179-64-49.
Carolina entered United Soccer Coaches Top 25 last week at No. 15 and are currently in the receiving votes category. The Heels have four ranked teams on their schedule along with Virginia, who is receiving votes.

Newcomer Luca Nikolai started all 39 of his games at James Madison over the previous two seasons, notching five goals and six assists. He entered 2025 as a member of Top Drawer Soccer's Best XI and ranked No. 9 on their Top 100 list. He is also a member of the Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List.
True freshman Ryan Dugan has been a super sub for Coach Somoano. He's tallied two goals in four matches, including the gamewinner versus Evansville.
