• The Mustangs snapped UNC's seven-game win streak.
• SMU scored 97 points, the most against the Tar Heels this season. No opponent had scored 75 or more points this season.
• The Mustangs shot 51.9% from three, making 14 of 27 three-pointers. The 14 threes were the most by an opponent since Boston College made 14 in an overtime loss in Chapel Hill last season. They were the most in a regulation-length game since Dayton made 14 in a UNC victory last season.
• SMU's 58 second-half points were the most in a half by an opponent since Kentucky scored 58 in the second half on 12/18/2021.
• SMU shot 71.4% from the floor in the second half (20 of 28) and 60.0% for the game (36 of 60).
• The 71.4% second-half shooting was the best by an opponent in any half since Gonzaga shot 72.0% on 18 of 25 shooting in Spokane on 12/18/2019.
• The Mustangs' 60.0% shooting was the highest field goal percentage by an opponent in a game since Syracuse shot 62.5% (30 of 48) on 2/13/2024.
• The 97 points were the most by an opponent since Alabama's 103-101 four-overtime win in Portland, Ore., on 11/27/2022. The 97 points are the most in a 40-minute game since a 98-76 win by Wake Forest in Winston-Salem on 1/22/2022.
• SMU's 23 assists were the most by an opponent since Connecticut had 25 on 12/5/2023 in New York.
• Carolina made 12 of 28 three-pointers. The 12 3FGs were the most by the Tar Heels in a loss since UNC made 12 against Alabama in the 2024 NCAA Sweet 16 in Los Angeles.

• Seth Trimble tied his career highs with three 3FGs and five assists and led UNC with 22 points.
• It was Trimble's fourth career game with three 3FGs (Elon and Auburn last season and Ohio State earlier this season).
• It was the second time in the last three games Trimble tied his career high with five assists. Today's game was the first of the three instances when Trimble had five assists when he did not commit a turnover.
• Trimble scored 20 or more points for the third time in his career and the second time in as many games (20 vs. Florida State).
• Trimble has scored in double figures in all six games he has played in this season, which equaled the longest streak in his career (first six games of his junior season).
• Henri Veesaar (14) and Caleb Wilson (13) have scored in double figures in all 15 games.
• Luka Bogavac made two three-pointers and led UNC with a season-high six assists.
• Jarin Stevenson made a season-high three 3FGs, a season-high five field goals and scored 16 points, also his personal best as a Tar Heel. He had made one three-pointer in the previous seven games.

• Boopie Miller led the Mustangs with 27 points and 12 assists.
• The 27 points were most by an opponent this season.
• Miller's 12 assists were the most by an opponent since Maryland's Melo Trimble had 12 on 12/1/2015.
• Corey Washington went 5 for 7 from three and scored 23 points. The five 3FGs are the most by an opponent this season.

• UNC is 3-2 all-time against SMU, including 0-1 at Moody Coliseum and 1-1 in Dallas.
