ATLANTA – The acclaim continues to roll in for North Carolina Women's Basketball signee, as Kate Harpring has been named a Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girls' High School Player of the Year Semifinalist, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. Harpring is one of two Class of 2026 signees set to hit the court for Carolina in the 2026-27 season.
The guard out of Atlanta is one of 10 players across the country to be named a semifinalist.
Last week, Harpring was named a McDonald's All-American, the sixth signee under head coach Courtney Banghart to earn the prestigious honor.
The 5–10-point guard is prepped to shine in Chapel Hill, as Harpring is ranked as the No. 1 player in the Class of 2026 by 274Sports and the No. 4 player by ESPN.
Shining throughout her senior campaign at Marist Academy, Harpring recently eclipsed the 3,000 career-point mark.
Last season, Harpring picked up the trophy for the 2024-25 Gatorade Georgia Girls Basketball Player of the Year after posting 32 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Harpring is also set to represent the United States at the 2026 Nike Hoop Summit in April in Portland, Oregon.
