• Carolina led by 19 (56-37) with 13:49 to play but lost in overtime. It was the largest lead UNC has ever lost in an NCAA Tournament game (the largest ever by any team in a round of 64 game and the sixth largest in any game).
• It was UNC's largest lead in a loss since 1/22/2004 at Florida State. The Tar Heels led by 24 in the first half before the Seminoles won, 90-81, in overtime.
• The Rams outscored the Tar Heels, 38-19, to send the game to overtime.
• Carolina was 0 for 6 from the floor and missed three of its six free throws in overtime.
• It was the first time the Tar Heels failed to make a field goal in an overtime period since going 0 for 8 in a 64-61 loss at Miami on 1/4/2003.
• It was UNC's first overtime game this season.
• UNC shot 60.0% from the free throw line (12 of 20), its lowest percentage in an NCAA Tournament game since the 2017 national championship game victory over Gonzaga.
• Carolina led, 39-28, at halftime. It was UNC's second-largest halftime lead in a loss in the NCAA Tournament (15 vs. Kansas in the 2022 national championship).
