The Tar Heels, ranked No. 42 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, will take on the No. 45 Blue Devils at 1 p.m. at Ambler Tennis Stadium on the Duke campus.
UNC is 13-9 this season and won at Miami and Florida State last weekend in a pair of close, 4-3 decisions. The Tar Heels are 6-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference action, tied with Cal for eighth place in the league standings. At 10-12 and 5-7 in ACC play, Duke is tied with Louisville and Miami, a match behind Carolina.
The Tar Heels boast three ITA-ranked singles players this week in #76 Roan Jones, #119 Chris Xu and #125 Ian Mayew. The doubles team of Jones and Anthony Wright is ranked #34.
Following Saturday's match. Carolina will enter next week's ACC Championship at the Cary Tennis Park in nearby Cary, N.C. The top eight seeds receive a bye into Thursday's second round, while seeds nine through 16 will open play in Wednesday's first round.
