Women's Lacrosse Hosts NCAA Quarters Against Stanford Thursday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 2 seed North Carolina will continue NCAA Tournament play on Thursday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. on Dorrance Field. The Tar Heels will face Stanford for the third time in the last month, having defeated the Cardinal 18-9 on April 10 in Chapel Hill and 12-8 in the ACC Tournament Final in Charlotte on April 26.
The Heels' game on Sunday will air on ESPNU. Leah Secondo and Courtney Connor will have the call.

- UNC is looking to win its fifth NCAA Championship and its second consecutive title, having won the Tournament in 2013, '16, '22 and '25.
- The Tar Heels are making their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and have earned place in the field 21 times in a row. They have a tournament recored of 47-22.
- Carolina is currently outscoring its opponents 327-134 (+193), which leads the nation. Last season, the Tar Heels led the nation in scoring margin at +233 (384-151).
- Carolina's defense held opponents to 6.9 goals per game in 2025, which ranked first in both the ACC and NCAA. This year, the Heels are holding opponents to 7.4 goals per game, which ranks third nationally and first in the ACC.
- The nation's best player, Chloe Humphrey, has followed up her record-breaking freshman season with another outrageous year. Her 99 goals and 144 points lead the nation and her 45 assists are tied for 17th. Humphrey's 99 goals and 144 points are both UNC single-season records. She is also tied for the team lead with 20 caused turnovers this season. For her career, Humphrey's 189 goals are fourth all-time at UNC and her 262 points are third. Her 73 assists are 10th all-time in school history.
- Eliza Osburn has been stuffing the stat sheet in '26. After 18 games, Osburn has 29 goals (fourth on the team), 17 assists (third on the team), 23 groundballs (t-third on the team), 15 caused turnovers and 37 draw controls (third on the team).
- Addison Pattillo has come into her own during her sophomore campaign. She's second on the team in goals with 52. She's also added 13 assists, 17 groundballs and 17 caused turnovers (fourth on the team).
- Kate Levy has been a stable presence for the Heels as a sophomore. She's tallied 25 goals and 11 assists, while adding 25 groundballs (second on the team), 20 caused turnovers (tied for team lead) and 10 draw controls.
- Sarah Gresham and Kaleigh Harden have taken over the draw for Carolina. The pair have tallied 94 and 80, respectively. Thanks to this duo, the Heels rank first in the league and third nationally with 16.3 draw controls per game.
- Sam Forrest has been the nation's best defender for the better part of two seasons. She's tasked with marking the opponent's best attacker and normally stifles them. An elite one-one-one defender, she's the leader of a unit that is allowing just 7.4 goals per game, while causing 9.6 turnovers per game.
